The Free Gift of Salvation

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

We have such a great and loving God, full of Mercy and Grace. It is hard for me to comprehend the extent of our God's love for us. God loved us so much that He came to earth, incarnated as Jesus, to die on the cross for our sins. When I think of the pain and suffering that my Lord endured just too save a sinner like me it makes me want to reach out to Him and say "Thank you Lord!". My Lord's suffering makes anything that I might go through seem so minor and insignificant.

Just the thought of everlasting life and knowing that God has a place for me in Heaven brings peace and joy to me even in trying times. Do you have the peace and joy that I am talking about? God's gift of Salvation is free. All you have to do is accept His Son Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Is this the day that you will accept your free gift from God?

What Must I Do To Be Saved? The ABC’s of Becoming a Christian

“A” is for Admit. You must admit to God that you are a sinner. You must be sorry for your sins and turn away from sinning. Verses that support this step are: Romans 3:23, 6:23, Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9.

“B” is for Believe. You must believe that Jesus is God’s Son and that God sent Jesus to pay the penalty for sin. Verses about believing include: John 3:16, 14:6, Romans 5:8.

“C” is for Confess. You must confess your faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Read the following verse: Romans 10:9-10,13.

After you admit to God that you are a sinner, repent and turn from your sin, believe that Jesus is God’s Son sent to die to pay for the sins of the world, and confess your faith in Jesus, you are a Christian and know Jesus as your Savior.

Admit! Believe! Confess! Here is a sample prayer that will help you begin:

Dear Lord Jesus,
I believe that You died on the cross for my sins and that You arose from the grave. I am now asking you to forgive me of my sins and to save my soul. I pray this all in your Holy and Precious name. Amen.

I will occasionally reflect on world events that affect the Christian Faith and family values.
