Is Rob Bell a wolf in sheep's clothing?

Evangelical mega-church pastor Rob Bell
supports homosexual ‘marriage’

BY MURRAY VASSER

March 19, 2013 (MurrayVasser) - This Sunday Rob Bell, a popular Christian writer and speaker, came out in support of homosexual marriage. He stated, "I am for marriage. I am for fidelity. I am for love, whether it's a man and woman, a woman and a woman, a man and a man. I think the ship has sailed and I think the church needs -- I think this is the world we are living in and we need to affirm people wherever they are."

Bell went on to talk about love: "I would say that the powerful, revolutionary thing about Jesus' message is that he says, 'What do you do with the people that aren't like you? What do you do with the Other? What do you do with the person that's hardest to love?'"

For all his rhetoric on love, however, Rob Bell is demonstrating that he does not love homosexuals. Click "Here" to read the complete article. _________________________________________________

I find this to be a very interesting article about a well known Christian Evangelist/writer who has come out publicly in support of gay marriages.

As a Believer in Jesus Christ I have always been taught that we should always love the "sinner" but hate the "sin".  In God's eye one sin is no more serious or less serious than another sin.  "God hates sin!"

My question is this:  Is Pastor Rob Bell a wolf in sheep's clothing and should he be labeled a "false teacher" of God's Word?

Only Member's of the RCC are SAVED?

I thought it would be interesting to see if all members of the Roman Catholic Church had the same belief as my Christian Brother Michael regarding "Salvation".

Michael is a very outspoken member of the RCC on all doctrines and traditions.  Michael has the Christian blog "BREAD OF LIFE" and just recently posted the following teachings on "WHAT MUST I DO TO BE SAVED?"  Click "here" and read what Michael has to say, then let me know what God is saying to you regarding His free gift of Salvation.

Then I want you to answer this simple question:  In your personal opinion, what do you understand it takes for a person to go to Heaven?

Christians must test the Spirits!

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.  By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God.  And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.  (1 John 4:1-3)

"Do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits" means that we shouldn't believe everything we hear just because someone says it is a message inspired by God.  There are many ways to test teachers to see if their message is truly from the Lord.  One is to check to see if their words match what God says in the Bible (1 John 2:22; 1 Cor. 12:3).  Other tests include their commitment to the body of believers (1 John 2:19), their life-style (1 John 3:23, 24), and the fruit of their ministry (1 John 4:6).  But the most important test of all, says John, is what they believe about Christ.  Do they teach that Jesus is fully God and fully man?  Our world is filled with voices claiming to speak for God.  Give them these tests to see if they are indeed speaking God's truth.

The Supremacy of Jesus Christ

Paul interrupts his description of his prayers for the Colossians (Colossians 1: 1-14) with a song of praise. This early Christian hymn (Colossians 1: 15-20) emphasizes the superiority of Christ over all creation. Christ is the One who created all things, whether they be material or immaterial, seen or unseen. This idea is in direct contradiction to the false teaching, later known as Gnosticism, that was developing in the Colossian church. In general, Gnostics believed that various angelic beings were the creators of the earth and that Christ was one among many of these angels. Not only did Jesus create all things; everything was created for His purposes (Hebrews 1:2). But the glory of the earth, the heavens, or the sun, moon, and stars cannot be compared with the glory of His new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17).

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence. For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross. (Colossians 1: 15-20)

Arizona votes to ban funeral picketing!

PAUL DAVENPORT
January 12, 2011 - 11:24AM - AP

Arizona legislators have approved an emergency law to head off picketing by a fundamentalist Kansas church near the funeral service for a nine-year-old girl who was killed during a mass shooting in Tucson.

The Arizona bill, which would make it a misdemeanor to picket or conduct other protest activities within 100 meters of a funeral or burial service, comes after the Westboro Baptist Church said it planned to picket Thursday's funeral for Christina Taylor Green because "God sent the shooter to deal with idolatrous America." Click "Here" for complete story.

This news article just makes me ill at my stomach...what are the members of the Westboro Baptist Church from Kansas thinking! If it isn't bad enough that innocent people had to die because of the rampage of a devil possessed young man, but now the family of the nine year old little girl that was murder in the incident has to condone and be harassed by "SO CALLED" Christians that claim it was all God's will that the shooting took place.

Westboro Baptist Church has also protested at funerals of our soldiers killed in Iraq and Afghanistan. Shirley Phelps-Roper, a Westboro church member and a daughter of its pastor, said the prohibition wouldn't matter because church members planned to picket at one of two intersections more than 300 meters from the church where the girl's service will be held.

Why would a Christian church act in such a manner to bring shame upon itself? The only answer that I can come up with is this... maybe our Lord Jesus is not the head of their church! Is it any wonder why organized religion has such a bad connotation to it by the world? What are some of your thoughts regarding this fundamentalist Baptist Church?

UPDATE:  Kansas-based Westboro Baptist Church, Pastor Fred Phelps, has decided to back down from their plans to picket the funeral of 9-year-old Christina Taylor Green, the young girl who was gunned down over the weekend in Tucson, Arizona, in a shooting that claimed the lives of 5 others. In return, they have been promised airtime by two radio stations.

Click "Here" to go to the Westboro  Baptist Church website.  WARNING:  This is not your ordinary Christian church website so be prepared to see lots of "hate" articles. The Westboro Baptist Church, of Topeka, Kansas, is a hate group masquerading as a Christian church.

Can a Christian lose their Salvation?

There are those who believe that a Christian can lose their salvation after God has given them this free gift. These folks believe that if we, as believers, make a mistake (sin) that our Almighty God will erase their name out of the Lamb's Book of Life (Rev. 21:27). I have to admit, that there are a few scriptures in the Bible that may cause a believer to think God will remove their names from the Lamb's Book of Life, but if you look closer at God's Word you will see that there are so many more scriptures that are so clearly telling us this is not the truth.  When God promises to never leave us nor forsaken us He means exactly that (Deut. 31:6) .

Contend Earnestly For The Faith!

Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints. (Jude 3)

Jude's primary focus was the ethical dangers posed by false teachers who denied Christ's lordship by using Christian freedom and God's grace as a "license for immorality" (Jude 4). These false teachers were "grumblers and faultfinders" (Jude 16), scoffers who followed their own ungodly desires and natural instincts (Jude 18-19).

Jude's letter emphasizes the lordship of Christ (Jude 4,9,14-15,25). Christian freedom is not a hall pass to do whatever one wishes. Christians are to build themselves up in the foundational teachings of the faith, pray, remain faithful to God and be merciful to others.

Do You Have Itching Ears?

I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. (2 Tim. 4:1-4)

I charge: Paul underscores the importance of his command to Timothy by calling on God and Jesus to be witnesses to it. He reminds Timothy that Jesus will return in judgment (2 Tim. 4:1). Paul’s charge to Timothy is to preach the word. The foundation of any ministry is God’s Word. Preaching God’s truth is a sacred and demanding task, requiring perseverance and courage. Be ready means to take a stand. Timothy was to be alert at all times to his responsibilities, even when it was inconvenient. This type of ministry is not for a novice ( James 3:1).

Does Water Baptism Save You?

There are several "Christian" blogs out there in cyberspace that are preaching and teaching false doctrines regarding Salvation. I feel that it is necessary to post what the Word of God has to say about baptism and whether it is a necessary prerequisite for your salvation.

The below quotation from the Reformation Study Bible shows the scriptures from God's Word regarding Christian baptism:

“Christian baptism, which has the form of a ceremonial washing (like John’s pre-Christian baptism), is a sign from God that signifies inward cleansing and remission of sins (Acts 22:16; 1 Corinthians 6:11; Ephesians 5:25-27), Spirit-wrought regeneration and new life (Titus 3:5), and the abiding presence of the Holy Spirit as God’s seal testifying and guaranteeing that one will be kept safe in Christ forever (1 Corinthians 12:13; Ephesians 1:13-14). Fundamentally, Baptism signifies union with Christ in his death, burial, and resurrection (Romans 6:3-7; Colossians 2:11-12), and this union with Christ is the source of every element in our salvation (1 John 5:11-12). Receiving the sign of baptism in faith assures those baptized that God’s gift of new life in Christ is freely given to them. At the same time, it commits them to live in a new way as disciples of Jesus.”
