Crossdressing 7-year-old boy allowed to join Girl Scouts

October 31, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Girl Scouts of Colorado has announced that 7-year-old Bobby Montoya, who was initially turned away from a local Girl Scout chapter on the grounds that he is not a girl, will be allowed to join since he “identifies” as a girl.

Rachelle Trujillo, vice president of communications with Girl Scouts of Colorado, told CNSnews.com that any child who is “living life as a girl” is eligible for membership in the organization.

It just saddens my heart to read stories like this. The mother of this little 7 year old boy who thinks he wants to be a girl needs counseling on how to raise children. Please tell me how Bobby would have known that he was born a "girl" in a "boys" body when he was only two years old?

Man, it sure is a screwed up world. But that's how people think when they don't know God. Both my kids are now in scouting, and I hope they don't come across anything like this.

Little children are interested in doing things, with little regard to whether it is considered feminine or masculine, unless they are forced to decide. To declare that they are in the wrong gender body is to imply God doesn't know what he is doing and is blasphemous. Satan has definitely gotten control of our world. Apparently the boy has no close relationship with a male image and so emulates his mother. It does not make him a homosexual. There is evidence that the number of single parent homes contributes to the level of homosexual practices today.

The most likely cause of this behavior in boys might be the parents rejection of his gender in want of a girl. So the boy begins to believe he should be a girl.

What has scouting got to do with sexuality? If this boy doesn't feel particularly macho then why not let him join a group that isn't overtly male. He will soon sort out for himself where his sexual feeling lie. Real men can also sell cookies. Perhaps the greater concern is that people imagine that God created male and female as having overtly defined characteristics. i find these male/female organisations much more of a worry - why not have open membership or put the girl and boy organisations together to create something more human and humane.

Neither the Girl Scouts nor Boy Scouts are anything like they used to be. I quit donating to them about five years ago. The Boy Scouts even did away with the God and Country Merit Badge, I think.

You is sure right about this one Lloyd. It is a terrible and sinful world that don’t know how to raise its kids. This kid is gonna grow up all twisted and not follow in the Lord’s ways. Thankfully here in America we have the highest Church attendance of any Western society – we can talk about God and his Laws openly without fear of oppression. We know that we raise children right, in God fearing homes.

Yeah, sure it is an awkward fact that we God loving Americans have the HIGHEST divorce rate of any Western nation (far higher than those liberal, Pinkos in Europe); we have the HIGHEST rate of single parent families and one of the highest rates of teen pregnancy: ALL these are higher in the more Christian states. We’ve also one of the highest rates of STDs among teens, the highest murder rate of any Western society, the highest rate of violent crime – again all higher in the Christian heartlands of America. You’d think we’d have more important things to think about than this silly story that is probably only reporting half the facts, to make us feel self-righteous and superior to those ‘liberals’. But it would be more costly to hold up a mirror, rather than pointing an accusing finger (see Matt 7:3).

But boys is boys and girls is girls – that is how God made them... Or did he? Around 1 in 1,500 babies born have some form of indeterminate sex (see: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-14459843) perhaps that is what has happened with this child? But you prefer to believe the lies of LifeSiteNews.com – a website that happily rants on about ‘sexual immorality’ but seems ignorant of the Torah’s requirement not to bare false witness (something it does again and again with its half truths, salacious slights and sex obsessed innuendo – ‘You shall know them by their fruits’ Matt 7:16).

Given that it seems to be in the churches themselves that the problems lie – why take such an interest in the lives and morality of others? This is contrary to the Gospel – and what is really sick at the heart of much contemporary Christian thought and action.

Anonymous – I realize you are just being sarcastic, however, this issues here, if you read the complete article, is about a mother who is allowing her young son to believe that he was born a “girl” in a “boy’s body”…. Hence forth “he” should be allowed to join the girl scouts. Can a young child really have the mental capacity to understand this kind of thinking that is becoming the “norm” in our modern world? I don’t think so. There is no problem with kids playing with toys or dressing up in clothing… the problem is that we have an adult encouraging a child that they were born the wrong sex. I for one definitely see a problem here.

I have also done research on sexual disorders of children and find that the following is very informative and helpful in understanding DSD: Clinical Guidelines for the Management of Disorders of Sex Development in Childhood.

You know Lloyd to me it does seem as if people nowadays don't know how to handle life. I admit that I'm not an expert but this story does sadden me. If this little boy, when he grows a little older, realizes that he is in fact a boy in a boy's body, how will he be able to get back on track when everyone else is telling him he's a girl? Makes you wonder doesn't it?
Anyway, God bless you my friend, Geoff.

We live in a crazy Sodom and Gomorrah world induced by many sick parents and gloated over by Satan.. So ridiculous!!!. I pray God touches that family in a mighty way revealing the truth and giving that child peace and love to understand, he is male. Blessing to you Lloyd.

Thanks - I still think you'd be better looking a little nearer home rather than finger pointing. Single parent, teenage pregnancy, divorce are all shockingly high, even in church communities.

Sure perhaps this child has a wacky mother who I suspect has her own issues that she is forcing on the child (or the two are working together). But sites like LifeSiteNews.Com (or Lie-Slight-Abuse.Com) purposefully looks at exceptions and minorities - when (as the woeful statistics keep saying) the real problem is not with minorities, it is not with liberal laws, it is with heterosexual family life. If there was as much effort into curbing rampant materialism, lowering the shocking divorce rate (i.e. by make divorce as shameful as homosexuality is portrayed (after all divorce IS condemned (except in the case of infidelity) by Jesus - homosexuality isn't; but you don't see Lie-Slight-Abuse.Com running stories on the blight of many a church).

ANY news story that is so hugely unimportant (I mean, come on – how common do you think such is such a situation? Or how much impact is it going to have on the lives of children across America?) is designed to give the self-righteous and the bigot delight in finger pointing (as can be seen...). There are far more insidious and pernicious in-roads into family life and the welfare of children: TV, poverty, poor education, divorce, lack of adequate sex education (it is the only way to get teen pregnancy rates down – Bible bashing has the reverse effect!!), a financial and health care system (not to mention individual greed) that means both parents often have to work full time, unless you happen to be rich, thus lessening time with children and putting strain on marriage and familial relationships. But these are costly – personally costly – issues; not to mention issues that would cost big business and government money. So (not unlike the Nazis in the 1930s) there is a weight of Christian media now busily finger pointing and looking for ‘cheap’ righteousness and morality and looking to excuse social failings by blaming minorities or ‘exceptions’. It is the ‘rule’ that is broken; not the exception...

Anon. - You are right regarding teenage pregnancy, sexual immorality and high divorce rates in the United States. It is shameful that it has come to the point in our churches that God's Word really doesn't make any difference in the way some Christians live their lives. And our churches are all full of sinners like me. Thank God for giving us His free gift of salvation and His forgiveness of sin, past, present and future.

My prayer is that you will find the love, joy and peace that only Christ can give. The only thing I have to say is that if I can share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with only one person and it makes a difference in their life it is worth the effort. We all need to be held accountable for our actions and one day we will all stand before a Holy God who will judge us accordingly. God's blessings, Lloyd

That's pretty sad! My girls play with boy toys and my son has played with girl toys and both have played dress up. It doesn't make them trapped in the wrong body. Maybe it should be a law that before you can become a parent you must first take child development and parenting classes. Children just play, it doesn't make them transgendered or homosexual. To say that this kid decided his gender at the age of 2 is completely ridiculous! It's unfortunate that this poor kid is probably going to be messed up for life because of a parent not being able to parent appropriately. Too bad there aren't any other family members that haven't stepped in to guide this mother and her poor child.

Do not all children this young, cross-dress? I know I did. It is part of coming to terms with the world and discovering who you are. Family can help, but no one can TELL you who you are.

I think the "mother" has a lot to answer for when she's standing before the throne. This is truly sad and, ultimately, a perversion.
