Komen donations soar after cutting
ties with Planned Parenthood

WASHINGTON, D.C., February 2, 2012, (LifeSiteNews.com) – The Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation is reporting a massive uptick in fundraising ever since the women’s health organization announced it is cutting ties with Planned Parenthood.

In a conference call on Thursday its founder, Nancy Brinker, told reporters donations to the Komen foundation have increased 100 percent over the last two days.

Brinker said the organization would cease most of its funding for the abortion provider, because “wherever possible we want to grant to the provider who is actually providing the life-saving mammogram.”

“Planned Parenthood does not do breast cancer treatment and does not do mammograms, contrary to what some news outlets, including Fox News, are reporting,” Karen Malec, president of the Coalition on Abortion/Breast Cancer, told LifeSiteNews.com. “They just do the manual exam that women can do at home, and then they charge women for it.”

I find this article very interesting regarding the Komen donations increasing 100 percent after cutting ties with Planned Parenthood.  What are some of your thoughts regarding Planned Parenthood and their function in society today?

Continue to pray for the unborn babies that are killed daily in abortion clinics throughout the world.  May our Lord have mercy on the souls of those who continue to advocate death to the unborn and to the elderly.

But it appears that they have now backed down and changed their mind. Too bad no one wants to stand up for what's right today: http://content.usatoday.com/communities/ondeadline/post/2012/02/report-komen-reverses-decision-to-cut-planned-parenthood-funding/1?csp=34news

Gerry, thanks for the update. You are right. It takes courage to stand up against the world and all of its evil. God bless, Lloyd

Sol they changed their mind? Sad.

Sadly, they reversed their decision as the first commentor mentioned. I've heard that they will refund your contribution if you call and request it.

Here's the number for a refund of your donation:

That they reversed their decision even though it doubled their contributions shows just how much influence Satan has. That their contributions doubled shows who really gives in this country.

All these organizations should be required to be upfront with every donor as to where the money is going. On the one hand they deceive the people with hope for cures and with the other hand they hand the donor's money out to abortion providers. Light and dark, you can't be both.

A lousy ending to a very uplifting post, Geoff.

What a shame! When I first read about this in the news I was pretty happy to hear it, but now I just realize it's another group not willing to stand on their convictions. It's a real shame they reversed a smart choice.

I thanked the Komen foundation for cutting their support of Planned Parenthood on their facebook page and instantly received several vicious comments from other people. Then the Komen foundation deleted my post. Hopefully they will work it out and return to their decision to be separate from Planned Parenthood.

Also, Lloyd, I am still praying that Trey will get a job. Will you please continue to keep my son-in-law in your prayers, for the same reason? Thank you!
