Christian therapist faces being barred after ‘sting’ by homosexualist journalist

by Hilary White

January 18, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) – In yet another instance of the growing conflict between believing Christian professionals and the homosexualist movement in Britain, a Christian psychotherapist who helps individuals overcome homosexual inclinations may be “struck off,” or barred from practicing her profession.

Lesley Pilkington was the object of a sting operation by undercover journalist Patrick Strudwick, who approached her to ask her for help with his sexuality. He had told Pilkington that he wanted to leave the homosexual lifestyle and she informed him that she only worked within a Christian counseling framework. Click "Here" for the full story.

Now this is really an interesting article regarding a gay journalist going "undercover" to disbar a Christian therapist because she told him that she only worked within a Christian counseling framework. Watch out all of you Christian professionals because the next "sting" might be aimed at you or maybe even your church.

That is awful. I've heard mention of this happening (in ridicule), but now after reading the story you linked, I believe she was set up.

This incident gives whole new meaning to the biblical warning that we are sent out as sheep among wolves.

The woman was sincerely trying to help this man, who simply wanted to stab her in the back. According to the article, she said she would only help in a biblical framework, and he wanted that. Why isn't the homosexual getting the backlash?

God bless, Richie

Thank you, Lloyd, for bringing this to the attention of the Christian community...which oftentimes has their heads in the sand. A fact that most of your readers, I'm sure, would agree with. Sigh...

Thank you again.

There's no telling what will happen in this life, but Lesley Pilkington will have her ultimate reward, as will Mr. Strudwick.

Oh my - - - we all have to stand before Jesus one day to account for what we did for our life. The Bible says teachers are held to a higher accountability. Don't you feel that applies to any leader? That journalist has influenced a lot of people the wrong way and with deceitful motives.

Brother Lloyd I think this type of entrapment, deceit and undercover surveillance is going on everywhere. I believe all will as the Bible says "wax worse and worse"
John 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

Just an example how the spiritual enemy comes in subtly...lying about things...accusing things...

May this be brought into His light! Thanks for sharing this. It's awful...But it's expected as these days are evil...God bless.

It showes how things have gotten so crazy. This lady who has done her job without complaint now in trouble for trying to help.

The homosexual groups say they want equality, to be treated fairly, to stop being treated with hostility, that is all hooey. They want to force their agenda on everyone, with the oppertaive word being force. How sad, what is even sadder is that what I have written would be considered a hate crime in some countries.

What is it with the Christian community and the gay community? Isn't it in Ezekiel "All souls belong to me"? Christ preached love and tolerance so leave the gays be.

I am really not surprised but am angered. Here a person represents themselves as wanting Christian help knowing full well what that meant and then acts like the person did something wrong. That is what is unethical.

I agree, We should not be surprised if this comes to America as well. UGH!!!

"You can tell the weather, but you cannot tell the signs of the times". Isn't this a sign of our times? Is anyone in the year 2011 surprised at this? We live in an ungodly world, and I see wh.at is happening all around us.

Thanks for your post,Lloyd

It's just a matter of time before we see it in the United States. The framework is already established. Thanks for the reminder.

We are seeing increasing criticism and discrimination on every side against believers here in the UK - such as a nurse suspended from her job for praying with a patient, an airport employee being sacked for wearing a gold cross round her neck... Do they sack Muslim women for wearing a veil? No, they do not. I believe the time is coming when Christian ministers will be forced by law to marry homosexual couples in church if they come asking.

Loyd - thank you so much for all your lovely comments on my blog! You are such an encouragement, and it's wonderful to know that you are praying for me. May the Lord bless you!

We are so consumed with our rights in this world that we forget about the rights of others. What about the rights of those who wish to escape the clutches of homosexuality and seek help, now their rights are diminished because of the so-called rights of others.
Free democratic societies, I think not.

WHY THE NEED FOR COUNSELLING - SURELY JUST PRAYER WILL DO. IT SAYS SO IN THE BIBLE. SO WHY DO WE NEED DOCTORS? AND ALL THIS NASTINESS.

QUEER BASHING AGAIN. AND THEN YOU WONDER WHY SENSIBLE PEOPLE REFUSE TO LISTEN TO YOUR SELF DELUSION.

JUST A GUESS, BUT I SUSPECT YOU'RE A DEVIL IN THE HOME AND AN ANGEL IN THE STREET? LOTS OF EFFORT PUT INTO OUTWARD APPEARANCES - HENCE THE NEED TO 'DIS' THE QUEERS; among others

I note Ms Lesley Pilkington has problems with one of her own sons. Perhaps this is just a little projection from the fact she can't put her own house in order. Perhaps you and her share a good deal of the same ground?

Reply to both ANONYMOUS' - First of all I want to thank you both for taking the time to visit my blog and making your personal opinions known to all readers. In every believer's life, prayer is the most important way to communicate with our Holy God. It all boils down sometimes to this: No Prayer = No Blessings. We Pray = We receive God's Blessings. It is true that God answers ALL prayers, however sometimes it may not be the answer we want to hear.

God has given us doctors, medicine and you name it for a believers use. If we have a medical condition we go to a medical doctor for help. If we have a physiological problem we go to a psychologist or therapist for help. God is there when His children need Him... we just need to listen to what He is telling us to do in our lives. God loves the sinner but cannot condone "sin". It is true that "We have all sinned and fallen short of God's Glory."

I am a sinner, just like both of you... but when I knowingly sin I am convicted by the Spirit of God to repent and turn away from that particular sin. Glory be to God that when we become "true believers" in Christ there is no condemnation...Jesus did it all for us who humbly bows down and accepts Him as our Lord and Savior.

My blog is not a place for "Gay Bashing" or any other sort of activity that would bring dishonor to our Lord Jesus. If there is anything on this blog that offended either of you, I am truly sorry. However, I humbly and sincerely tell you both, in the love of our Lord Jesus that you might go to Him in prayer for wisdom and courage to change anything in your lives that may not be within His will. I pray daily, asking our Lord to search my heart and to forgive me of things that I say or do that do not bring Glory too Him.

Thank you again for your visits. I will be lifting you both up in prayer to our Lord Jesus that He will give both of you the peace and Joy in your lives that only an intimate relationship with Him can bring. God bless, Lloyd

In America poltical correctness's hate speech legislation has not went that far. Although on paper with various hate crime legislation here in the U.S. - it sure seems like it. Luckily we have a culture and chracter of liberty--our churches once reflected that--as the white Protestant church preached autonomy and our civics preached the same. The counterculture had its way with The West in general and America specifically. Now we await a further dismantling that we'd like to attribute to endtimes prophecy -- only to forsake stewardship and hope that the death-wish comes true.

Lloyd -

I believe your responses to the criticisms you receive ought to be a blog in themselves.

I read the article and it doesn't surprise me so much that the world is becoming darker and darker.

But reading the comments in this post and how you responded to the "anonymous' commentators, I got a glimpse of your heart for the lost. What a wonderful heart you have for people.

I hope and pray that Christians, including myself, would do better at reaching the lost in speaking the Truth with "love" as you just did. It reminds me of 1 Corinthians 13. Doesn't matter how much we do something to try to serve people, reach the lost, etc. Unless it's done with an attitude of love, it's like a clanging cymbal.

Thank you for your wonderful example. And thanks for sharing this post! God bless!
