HOLLYWOOD, (LifeSiteNews.com) - After actor Kirk Cameron refused to back down on statements criticizing the societal effects of homosexuality, a deluge of angry retorts poured in from others in the entertainment industry, with some calling Cameron “a complete tool,” a “douchebag,” and “an accomplice to murder,” among other slurs.
Cameron, formerly the child star of the sitcom “Growing Pains,” was steered into a discussion on homosexuality by CNN’s Piers Morgan during an interview on Cameron’s new movie “Monumental.” In response to a question about his beliefs, Cameron called the practice of homosexuality “unnatural.” “I think that it is detrimental, and ultimately destructive to so many of the foundations of civilization,” he said. I thought this article about the "Hollywood elites" dog-piling on actor and Christian Kirk Cameron was pretty interesting. I watched this interview that Piers Morgan had with Kirk and felt that Kirk did a good job standing his ground against the worldly and depraved morals of Hollywood.
It will be interesting now, how Kirk's future as an actor will be, after all of the slanderous and negative slurs that Hollywood branded him with. Let us all keep Kirk Cameron and all actors that do not waver in they're Christian belief's and walk from the pressures of Hollywood.

We should not only be praying for Mr. Cameron, we should also try to support any work he does.
Yes I pray for many to rise up and stand with him against immorality. I pray his movie is a success and all Christians stand by him and support him. Great to read this Lloyd.

Proverbs 17:19 NKJV
"He who loves transgression loves strife, and he who exalts his gate seeks destruction."
It is no wonder Kirk Cameron is being met with such hatred.
Hi Lloyd, thanks for the opportunity to leave a comment.
I listened to Kirk Cameron's comments.
Like many he loves to say I'm a Christian,I believe we are all sinners. He never tells you his sins, but he loves to expose other's sins.
It somehow helps to keep him on a pedistole.A bit like the ones who used to stone prostitutes.
He is still on the big screen;just trying to play a bigger role.
This whole issue is a minefield for those of us who grow up in relative freedom and countries that are proud to call themselves democracies, this goes especially for the US, the UK, France, Germany, the Netherlands and the like.
There is an understanding in all these countries and many more that a person should be able to live in any way they like as long as their lifestyle doesn't impact unfairly on anybody else; or so the theory goes anyway.
One of the dangers of particularly and specifically singling out the gay lifestlye is that some unscrupulous people see it as alright to physically attack those they perceive as gay. Also, sin is sin, and comprises so many other things; we are ALL sinners and we have ALL sinned, every one of us and we have ALL been in error until God in His mercy rescued us; that's how it has been for me anyway. I was a consummate sinner in fact, and each day I try to walk with Jesus and not sin.
So, we must approach this with caution, even when we know that the gay lifestyle is not what God wants for any Christian, we can still be there for people who struggle and be merciful whilst at the same being truthful about God's Word and what He has to say about sin in general.
Great post and much food for thought.
I didn't hear the interview but tis true that the act is a unnatural but that's not to say he hates the participant. The Bible says that act is not acceptable and just because the masses want to be does not make it so.
I have a few gay friends and a brother who is and they all are very aware and the first to admit it is not natural. And it's something ro work out between them and Jesus.
A dangerous stand in any arena; I can't imagine the pressure that Kirk meets in Hollywood.
I find it mildly disturbing that the trend even for Christians is to deride a fellow Christian when they point out sinful behavior. The comment above by AndHe states: "Like many he loves to say I'm a Christian,I believe we are all sinners. He never tells you his sins, but he loves to expose other's sins." Does this imply that Christians must be perfect to recognize sin and call it for what it is? Only Christ was perfect. If this is the case then Christianity ought to simply shut up and allow the world to run its course. This also nullifies the gospel, since man must recognize that he is a sinner before one can readily accept a Savior. When Paul pointed out that homosexuality was against nature he did not apologize for likewise being a sinner, thus rendering his statements void. Christians must stand for what Jesus taught; one of these things is moral purity. Please, fellow Christians, it is not sinful to call something wrong or evil that God likewise calls wrong.
Cameron is a good actor and seems to be a decent person. Whatever Hollywood throws at him, I know God will carry him through it if he keeps his eyes and heart on Jesus. - Barbara
Ian Curtis said,"I can't imagine the pressure Kirk faces in Hollywood."
Can anyone on this blog imagine the pressure a gay person feels when they fear for their safety.
Kirk also spoke of the foundations of civilization. Are these the same foundations that not so long ago made it legal to castrate homosexuals in America.
I believe the last legal burning of a homosexual was in the seventeen hundreds(not in America).Something worth remembering.
I quote Martin Luther King ,Jr.
History will have to record that the greatest tragedy of this period of social transition was not the strident clamor of the bad people, but the appaling silence of the good people.
My step son did a project on teen suicide, while he was in high school. He found the highes rate was in gay teenagers.
I would guess the pressure on the average gay teenager in a high school almost anywhere in the world is much greater than the pressure Kirk is feeling in Hollywood.
I do not feel hatred for anyone on this blog.I love you all.
Thanks Lloyd
"Faith: No one word personifies the absolute worst and most wicked policies of religion better than that. Faith is mind-rot -- it's a poison that destroys critical thinking, undermines evidence, and leads people into lives dedicated to absurdity. It's a parasite that's regarded as a virtue. I speak as a representative of the scientific faction of atheism here -- it's one thing we simply cannot compromise on. Faith is wrong, and at the same time faith is a central tenet of just about every religion on the planet. We can't ignore that -- that's the thing we are interested in fighting."--P.Z. Myers
Its seems like those who stand up 4 the bible get condemed worst than those who don't follow it. Nobody is perfect but the Kirk is just stating the truth like it or not. We as people are supposed to love everybody but that doesn't mean that we have 2 agree with there life styles.
It will only get harder as time presses on to take a stand for the truth. I am proud he stood up for the truth.
I will have to stand with Kirk Cameron on his stand against homosexuality. The only difference between atheism and any other religion is the object of the faith.
"We as people are supposed to love everybody but that doesn't mean that we have 2 agree with there life styles." That about sums it up for me; thanks for making it clear! As Christians we have to regard what God regards; we can't deviate from scripture, but at the same time we are commanded to treat others as we would like to be treated ourselves; this includes everyone. So, we can love a Muslim, a gay person, an atheist, anyone at all, but we don't have to agree with them.
I grew up with two loving, faith filled parents. As a child I grew up believing the story of Jesus was history(plain and simple).
I walked in faith.
As a young adult I made my fair share(and some)of mistakes. I struggled for years trying to forgive myself for some of them.
One day an acquaintance handed me a Bible.
Things changed dramatically.I read the story of Job(a man who really lost everything); almost his faith.
My blog name AndHe comes from the popular hymn,"In The Garden".
The chorus goes,"And He walks with me,and He talks with me,and He tells me that I am his own.
He never judged me.He's is always with me.I should not have judged Kirk in my prior statements.I apoligise for that if I've offended anyone.
Lloyd, you really are a bore with your ‘easy’ righteousness. It would be good to hear one of your pet Republican puppets say something about the societal effects of American heterosexual life wouldn’t it? With some of the highest divorce, teen pregnancy, lone parent, violent crime and murder rates all the possession of the more religiously conservative states, not to mention, the poor health of many fat ass Americans, with their culture of gluttony and laziness, you’d really think Cameron would have something a little more challenging than the ‘easy’ morality of focusing on the queers. You strain gnats (given the gay population of America is around 1-3% - and not growing) and swallow camels. But this would be a little close to home – and rather challenging for congregations where divorce, single parenthood, teen pregnancy, being overweight etc. are all subjects a little close to home. Hence much better to have a swipe at the queers and at least the fat assed, divorced (and often re-married and divorced again), or single or teen parents, can feel morality superior (cf. Lk 18: 9-14).
Instead of pointing the finger of blame and accusation at others, why not do the manly thing of turning the mirror to yourself and American life a little more – rather than writing horsesh*t that seems focused on making you feel better about you.
I like Kirk alot and I like his choice of movies roles. I really have no respect for Hollywood as a whole. I respect him for speaking what he believes in.
Hello again Lloyd. I have an excellent video I put onto my Blog. Its about the family of Jesus and how they continued his message after he returned to Heaven.
Blessings of peace sent for all these Holy Days.
@ Peter, you can point fingers and ask why Kirk talked of homosexuality and then go on about all the other sin he failed to address? But Kirk can't call it like he sees it? That's strange. The reason Kirk addressed homosexuality directly was because he was asked a direct question. He gave a direct answer. I suppose you would have preferred him to say "well excuse me Mr. interviewer, before I answer that question...let me blather on about everything that is wrong in the world..then I will be able to give my OPINION on the subject of Gay marriage." lol. Whatever. The church needs to address all these issues. Kirk needs to stand his ground and all Christians need to grow a backbone. God bless him. That's all.
@Christine: thanks for your comment. At the end of the day you still have to ask, in a nation that leads the world in the divorce (and remarriage), teen pregnancy, obesity, lone parenthood, wanton materialism, greed and violence stakes (and oddly enough it is in the main, the overtly Christian, conservative states that have the highest proportions of these social problems); why so much is made of something that affects so few? Surely, instead of pointing the bony, self-righteous finger of accusation there is much in everyday American life – and particularly Christian family life (since Christians have the same divorce rate and high rates of teen pregnancy and lone parenthood) that you could be concentrating on. You have to ask why the issue of homosexuality gains such a disproportionate attention. This blog is a case in point – lots of posts regurgitating the half-truths, salaciousness, self-righteousness, innuendo and nastiness of Lifesitenews – yet there is little on the wider failings of Christian life in America. A case of Matthew 7:3 if ever there was one.
Later in Matthew Jesus tells us:
“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’
I think what this passage tells us, is that bleating on about homosexuality is of little consequence. It is so rarely mentioned in the Bible, where as justice, ‘washing each other’s feet’ and avoiding the sin of self-righteousness (in short pride) are mentioned again and again. But do we read posts here calling its readers to do that which is costly – no, there is a disproportionate interest in ‘easy’ righteousness. I’d suggest when those so intent on condemning others have their own houses in order (and looking at teen pregnancy, lone parenthood, divorce and remarriage among conservative Christians – not to mention obesity and rampant materialism) I think there is a lot to get in order.
Physician, heal thyself...
Interesting note. It will be interesting where he heads in the future when it comes to acting or whatever God has in store.
I think the best way of answering any question on beliefs if you are a christian is to quote Job ch.22 v21 'Agree with God and be at peace, thereby good will come to you', and then tell the person asking the question to look up what God says about the subject. Most questions asked on television chat shows are asked to stir up retaliation to the expected answer and the fact is, as christians we cannot judge outsiders and the word itself judges those who are inside the church. We can only work out our own salvation, share testimonies and preach Christ crucified.
Yes may we be as Cameron Kirk and dare to stand in the midst of our world and declare a life of Holiness and Righteousness....
It will only get harder as time passes, God Bless
so fantastic sweetie!

(Though I'm not sure what a Christian is doing as a Hollywood actor.)
We certainly need more Christians like Kirk to stand up for Christ and what He taught. As I reflect upon the response of those who practice homosexuality the thought that comes to mind is "sin breeds sin". They are very organized in their efforts and we must be also -only our response must be with love and reflect the light of Christ not as they do - relfect hate and darkness.
Lloyd: not had a post from you for a long while – hope all is well with you and yours?
@Carole – It rather amuses me that people think there is some well organised conspiracy of homosexuals – I have yet to come across it. Did Jesus stand up and condemn homosexuality? News to me if he did. And what is all this tosh about homosexuals reflecting hate and darkness? Odd that it is in the USA’s most religiously conservative states that we see the highest rates of divorce, teen pregnancy, single parent families, violent crime, murder, incarceration - not to mention obesity and ill-health. It is because homosexuality is a low investment, high return moral stance, it has become favoured by conservatives – pew after pew of heterosexual Christians can sit and cluck and lament the moral failings of their opponents and not have to worry too much about their own (particularly when their clergy choose to dwell on the righteousness of others, rather than instructing their congregations on matters a little nearer home – it is always preferable to point the finger rather than holding up a mirror). What seems to have really got Jesus annoyed was hypocrisy, people believing they are righteous because of their outward moral uprightness and those who judged others and looked down on others. After all we are saved by Grace and there is no gradation of sin. I think if Christians are really interested in creating a wholesome society and then the best course of action is not to spend some much time looking for scapegoats and the easy righteousness of blaming the few for the sins of the many. As Jesus notes the problems of this world come from within and can’t be found in some convenient group that it’s easy to malign and play on ancient prejudices. I think many Christians need to look a little nearer home for where the problems lie (cf. Matthew 15:19).
