All charges dropped against pro-life pastor

By Thaddeus M. Baklinski

OAKLAND, California, November 16, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The Appellate Division of the Alameda Superior Court has dismissed all criminal charges against Oakland pro-life witness Pastor Walter Hoye.

Hoye was arrested in May of 2008, charged, found guilty and imprisoned for peacefully counseling and picketing at a local abortion clinic.

He was charged under a 2008 City of Oakland bubble zone ordinance, which prohibits pro-life protesters outside abortion facilities from standing within 8 feet of women seeking abortions. His lawyers claimed the bubble zone ordinance was enacted for the sole purpose of keeping Hoye away from the Oakland abortuary and was an infringement on his constitutional right of free speech.

In January 2009, Hoye was found guilty of two counts of unlawfully approaching women entering an abortion facility, a misdemeanor enshrined in city law the previous spring.  Click here to read the full story.

This is an interesting article concerning Pastor Walter Hoye in his legal battle after being arrested for peacefully counseling and picketing at a local abortion clinic in 2008.

The freedom of speech and religion in the United States of America is becoming a constitutional right that, we as Christians, can not always take for granted. God bless you Pastor Hoye for your steadfast conviction to the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ.

This world is truly turning upside down. Nothing makes sense anymore. Today I am profoundly saddened by the backlash Bristol Palin is getting for making it to the finals on a TV show called Dancing with the Stars. Obviously the show is way more than just about dancing--it is about growth (although I don't agree with a lot of the show but that's a whole other point). The point is that it is a sad condition the human heart has come to when a beautiful, graceful young lady has is condemned and hated because of political prejudice. To me, really, it's beyond political prejudice, it is in line with you post--evil vs. good and right seeming wrong more and more each day. God help us all.

Amen and amen! Our freedom seems to be slowly slipping away. Interesting and inspiring blog. God bless!

We have fallen so far as a nation. We once solidly stood on Christian values. Now we support infanticide more than a pastor's right to help. The Lord is truly our only help. Thanks for posting the article.

It's real scandal! It is similar to affair of Swedish pastor Ake Green. I think that European and American culture is falling down now, because of lack of God in hearts of people. I will not surprised, if this degenerate civilisation will be changed by Islamic - what we can see on the area of Roman Empire. For example, in UK islamists are more and more stronger - because people are fed up with this liberal world and many Christians don't treat Bible seriously.
Jesus is coming. He is really near.

There are not so many like him who are willing to go that far to share the truth from the Lord to those women who think that abortion is a quick solution if their pregnancy feels like a problem to them. May God bless him and protect him always. God bless you bro. Lloyd and I want to thank you for always encouraging me.

Brother Lloyd, it is great to see that there are some islands of sanity left. What we need are a few continents.
God Bless

That is too sad that he went to jail for just loving human life really. How ridiculous!

Anyway, I'm sorry I got so paranoid about male followers at my blog. Honestly, I needed to get rid of some posts and ask the Lord for wisdom on how to write on the internet. I rarely teach anyway. I hope you can forgive me. I am following your blog. Come back and follow mine again if you want to.

God bless you brother Lloyd!

I have seen the same thing as Christians try to testify, or hand out literature to Muslims at the Arab festivals. Unless we take an active stand in these matters all rights can be governed. When our rights under the law is God given! Government is only there to protect those rights.
I have a right to free speech, those who don't want to hear what I have to say, have the right to walk away, or not listen. They do not have the right to have me ticketed, or arrested.
